Reminds me of the book "The Cellar" by Natasha Preston
If you liked the story, this book I read is similar and very addicting, but more twisted.

shareThanks, I will definitely check it out.
shareI was actually thinking the same thing and came to the boards to see if anyone else picked up on that!
shareThere's a 1963 book by John Fowles called "The Collector", which, quite frankly, inspired a lot of loons to kidnap someone in the first place. It has cropped up, time and again, in interviews with kidnappers and serial killers.
If you don't mind older prose, and bear in mind it's not grisly or salacious, it's a very good book, written at a time when the idea was genuinely horrifying. It's told from the point of view of a young man who has recently come into a large sum of money.
This movie is similar to a book called The Never List by Koethi Zan as well. The guy captures multiple women, and he's a professor too oddly enough.
