Where was Neil Innes?
I was glad to see Carol Cleveland along the boys. But where was Neil Innes?
I was hoping he would at least have a short appearance singing "how sweet to be an idiot".
Neil Innes is currently considering legal action regarding royalties for music he provided in the past (e.g. contributing at least part of "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life").
Note that there was nothing in the show about Holy Grail. Plenty from The Meaning Of Life, and at least "Always Look" from Life of Brian. Nothing from Holy Grail because of Monty Python being successfully sued by Mark Forstater for 1/7 Spamalot royalties, based on the fact that the show was a derivative of Holy Grail and thus he was entitled to revenues based on long-ago agreements regarding the film.
The O2 performances were partly done to help with all the legal costs of this. And more funds may be needed regarding Neil Innes.
So it is no surprise that Neil Innes had no role in this production.
