The new suit stinks
And what a lame incomprehensible reason they tried to give for the change.

I agree wholeheartedly! Emma is a beautiful girl who clearly is careful to keep herself in shape; it's a waste to cover her up with such a bulky and unflattering suit. Save that for those who let their bodies go.
shareYou are exactly right erik!. The suit was even worse in the 2nd episode. She wears it to go into a tub of water, why does she need a collar? It looks like she is going into a pool fully clothed, it looks ridiculous!
Why does she need kevlar when she is not in any physical danger when she wears it? She never even leaves the lab with it on, what's it supposed to be protecting her from?

It's only 2 episodes in, but they don't show her from "behind" like they've been doing in Season one with the old suit.

Every person that served can be called a veteran, but not every veteran can be called a Marine.
She's probably been adding some new terms to her contract, such as not showing her from behind, and having a less revealing suit on. It's quite common for actors to add further restrictions to their contract, if a tv-show goes on for more than one season.
- It happened Eg in Games of Thrones, where both Emilia Clarke and Lena Hardly had incorporated in their contracts, that they would not show nudity anymore, and the producers had to use body doubles instead.
There's definitely a "desexy it" thing going on, but saying where it's coming from would be guessing.
Ms. Ishta has been a model forever, so I doubt she's unhappy with having her body on display; but it could be suggestions from her agent to shift her career to "acting" instead of "eye candy." If the leadership on the show has changed, they could be pushing for "less CW, more SciFi" or it could be coming from the network.
Whatever the reason, it's annoying. There's nothing criminal with wanting to look at a pretty woman in a painted-on suit. (Nothing wrong with attractive men in shorts either - that's just not my thing). It's entirely possible to have a respectable show with good writing and solid acting while the lead is also "eye candy" - in fact I'd say that if anyone but Ms. Ishta made the call, it's an indication of their lack of conviction in the show.

Emma is pregnant, so that may be why they aren't showing her from behind. The new suit is okay, but I do not like the collar. The old suit was nearly skin tight. We women can't really wear skin tight stuff while pregnant. It would be very uncomfortable. Maybe the first suit style will return in season three (if it's renewed) after Emma has her baby.
shareShe wasn't pregnant (or that far gone) when she filmed season 2
shareTo me, why wear a suit so revealing if she doesn't want anything shown. Total waste of time and wardrobe.
Especially when some celebrities get into lingerie and then wear a robe over it.
They try to SUCK you in with ratings and show you nothing.
Show will be cancelled.

It's like she's become an X-Man in season 2.
I prefer the simplistic look of the "Catwoman" suit - it sucks they changed it.
Exactly!

That's the 1st thing I thought when I saw it. That's the Jean Grey movie suit.

I didn't know she was pregnant. I can understand that terrible suit.

At first I didn't mind the new suit, but now I think it's ugly.
shareYou can't even see her in the new suit anymore. She's always in the water. Also, during the stitch, in season 1 it was crystal clear and you could see Kirsten, now it is all shaky cam and strobe lights and dead guy point of view stuff. It's bad enough that they put her in a burka, now you can't even see that.
