Film # 4 on the 2016 Halloween Movie marathon...
..and I probably should have watched it more around Christmas, knowing now it's a horror/comedy , but overall, it was a fantastic film! SOme great holiday laughs with some genuinely scary sequences. I understand why they went for the PG13 rating but I wish they did make an uncut/unrated version because in some shots, it felt like there was more to it but they cut away or just off screen it.
Still a super solid film and I gave it an 8 out of 10. I see this board is quite divided on the ending and I do feel enough of it was left open for interpretation, but in my eyes, I have to go with the "dark" ending. There were just too lines of dialog for me to dismiss it and I feel the film works better that way too. I mean, if it was intended to be a happy ending all along, and all Krampus needs is a wish to be taken back, that means the Grandma DIDNT cry and wish her parents weren't taken away>?? That totally ruins her character!
What do you think??
Who's strangling the cat?
