Played like a comedy!

Stock characters, loud, booming music that reminded me of Gremlins, and lots of people shooting at monsters. Maybe this really was Gremlins, mixed with the Polar Express...since a bell is given to the main character and changes the way he thinks and feels about Christmas.

But I didn't think this was scary, at all. Loud, yes. Noisy, yes. And that bald guy from Final Destination and The Goldbergs instantly told me this was a comedy. And it wasn't even that funny.

It's not meant to be overly scary. Gremlins is exactly right. This was an homage to 80s horror comedy movies just like Gremlins.

I thought the movie was funny for what it was. I still don't compare it to Gremlins... I compare it more between A Christmas Carol and Willy Wonka with a dash of Christmas Vacation... but that's just me. Gremlins has more violence than Krampus has. And Gremlins plays out more like an old style comic book, while Krampus makes me think of an older style film.... does that make sense? Wish they had left a few of the 4 letter words out... and it might have been a better dark family Christmas movie. Still watching it every year...

3rd generation American from a long line of Gottscheers... it was Drandul, dude!

Agreed. It wasn't particularly scary and it wasn't particularly funny. Just not that good at whatever it was trying to be.

Adam Scott was great, though  He managed to wring some laughs out of me with a lot of his line readings.

"What race are you? If you don't tell me I'll just...assume the worst."
