What does she do in her spare time?

With law school, a full time job, and nightly customers, Christine leads a busy life!

Soaks in a sitz bath for hours.

Apparently she masturbates in her off time. I kept trying to figure out why she's a call girl when she's obviously smart and could have other careers, but what her mom said is true. She's selfish and loves the attention.

I don't think she has any spare time!

She probably just studies and eats. Oh and masturbate obviously.

I think part of her borderline sociopath personality is that she doesn't really have any "normal people" joys in life. She is so smart and ambitious, but I kept trying to figure out what her drive is. She doesn't seem to really care about anything. In episode 12 we realize she grew up poor, so that is some insight into her drive to make money, but she's always all alone and doesn't even have any hobbies other than masterbation. Her life is pretty depressing from my point of view.

IIRC, one of her customers asked if she had any friends, she said in her emotionally dead voice, "I don't have any friends."

It should be clear to the audience the Christine character is not normal, yes, she appears to be a sociopath.

Christine, rarely, if ever, smiles, she is ambitious to the point of not wanting/needing friends and seems completely dead inside. Her 'friendship' with the other escort was based on connections, not any true need for a friend.

There doesn't seem to be one moment of joy or caring in her life, though the scene where she is frantically looking for her client Michael on his yacht, she did seem human and concerned for him. Or was she more concerned about him dying in her presence? Was she concerned about having to explain to people who she was, why she was there etc.

When her sister asked about Christine's ex-roommate, a male, having also been her boyfriend....Christine replied that he was never her boyfriend, that they just had sex. Sex for Christine is either recreational or a way to make money, there are never emotions involved.

It seems that any sort of emotional involvement, Christine is not interested in: she has no real friends, never had a long term boyfriend, she is basically a void. I don't even think she gets pleasure in masturbating, it seemed like 'practice' for her online sex sessions. Seriously. Wasn't she recording herself masturbating?

As for Christine growing up poor, lots of people grow up poor, very few become escorts because of their poor backgrounds. Sure, growing up poor makes some people extremely ambitious, they try doubly hard to transcend their backgrounds. Her parents didn't seem dirt poor, weren't they both school teachers? Where I live, school teachers make $75,000 and up. Assistant principals make over $125,000, those salaries are hardly considered minimum wage.

Her mom's pregnancy probably wasn't planned, her parents might have still been going to college and working. To find out they weren't planned, is hardly an Earth shattering experience for young people from many different generations. In fact, most pregnancies in marriages are not always planned.

Christine's parents didn't appear to be abusive, druggies or alcoholics, those are usually the reasons a young person gets into drugs, alcohol or becomes extremely rebellious.

Until the viewers get some real insight as why Christine has made these choices in life, the bits and pieces we are seeing, aren't enough to figure her out. On the surface, the Christine character seems extremely selfish and emotionally stunted.
