PC word for whore?
since she don't like being called whore, is there a politically correct word for someone who prostitutes, escorts, or anything else?

shareThere is absolutely a difference between someone you pick up for sex and someone you hire to serve as a girlfriend experience type of escorts. Both involve sex work but there is a distinction just as there is between the kid who drops the fries into the fryer at McDonald's and the chef at a 5 star restaurant. Both are feeding you but the meals are dramatically different.
I'm not judging one or the other as better, just different. Sometimes nothing hits the spot like greasy fast-food fries, other times you find yourself craving filet mignon.
Molly-lips...I love your analysis and comparison both are very good.
shareMolly-lips, whoring is whoring. Having sex for cash is the same in both scenarios you mention. The only difference is class snobbery. Rich people try to mask what is the oldest professional in the world with fine clothes, fine wine, classy apartments. But the client is after the same thing even if the dining setting is McDonald's. Don't kid yourself that sex for money is 'different'.
shareMost men who pick up street prostitutes or on Craigslist are looking for just sex. Frequently it takes place in a car and the transaction is over quickly. We are talking about a different thing here. It is more like dating with guaranteed sex. They take these women out, they talk, they get to know them and don't necessarily have sex every time they see her. It is very different.

You know way too much about this.
shareGood read, wildj7. Lots of IMDB posters are full of good information. You must have watched, HEIDI FLEISS, THE RISE AND FALL OF A HOLLYWOOD MADAM. Your last paragraph is spoken almost word for word by Madam Alex, Heidi Fleiss' mentor.
Prostitution ranks up there among the top ten oldest world professions because younger men (through their forties) will always need sex (thanks to libido and testosterone) more than younger women are available and willing to provide.
Has been at best acceptable in society but never respectable in any country or culture in any time period. Japanese Geishas were exempt because the true geisha was a highly trained and skilled entertainer and conversationalist, not a common street prostitute, even though sex might still have been part of a nightly transaction or not.
What's not covered is a highly discrete, voluntary, part-time escort arrangement which arose in the late 20th century as women entered career professions. I foresee great Hollywood potential that is yet to be discovered.
You can still find accounts on the Internet.
The most spectacular and publicly visible was back in 2011 when professional Zumba instructor, Alexis Wright was convicted of doing part-time prostitution allegedly with some male students and other men. There was never any criticism of her Zumba skills; far from it. Students considered Wright an excellent teacher. But Wright had learned to glean extra, higher income from interested male students and other men who came to her with 'special' needs. When Wright left jail after serving only 3 months out of six, her husband picked her up.
But then Alexis Wright's case was matched by the astonishing exposure of former U.S. Olympics track runner, Suzie Hamilton as a Nevada high-class escort. She claimed that a 'jilted' customer exposed her. I can only assume some john fell in love with her and she had to reject him. Many guys can't take rejection.
Years ago, Cosmopolitan magazine featured an expose' of part-time prostitutes. A number of women interviewed explained they secretly entered part-time prostitution when it became opportunistic. Almost all never started out their adult lives planning to undertake, secret part-time escorting. Only a few established themselves through escort agencies, one being a copy editor in NYC.
The list of professional career women doing part-time escorting is eye-opening:
College students Dance Instructor
Social worker Airline Attendant
Law school student Accountant (her husband knew)
Lawyer Military enlisted woman
Military female officer Hat Check Girl
Professional masseuse Physical Fitness Instructor (A. Wright)
Professional athlete (S. Hamilton)
Housewives (husbands know) Freelance writer (was not really a writer)
What this list means is that it could be any woman in almost any occupation. We can presume, nonetheless, that such a woman is going to be attractive, at least 7 on a 10 scale, and probably between her late twenties to very late
thirties. Exemptions exists, such as college girls, and a few individuals who
look attractive in their early forties but for the most part, the exit age tends to be at the end of one's thirties when middle-middle age sets in. Also the forties are when women enter menopause, need more be said?
This possibly vast, underground secret individual escorts must be more widespread than anyone might conclude.
Can you imagine the possibilities if Hollywood created a tv series out of this?
how about "puta"?
