Why didn't Vazquez turn?
After he was decapitated why didn't he turn into a zombie? His brain wasn't damaged, so he should have come back instantly.

sharei was wondering the same thing. it makes no sense. also his whole "i'm completely off my nut so i now think i'm the Scorpion" gig was ridiculous and a bummer (since i was hoping Vasquez would rejoin the group/the show).
shareIf he wasn't infected he wouldnt turn unless the infection is airborne.
Kranadon, i'm getting my zombie shows/movies mixed up. lol.
shareKrandadon, everyone is infected though. In the past, no matter how you die, you come back to life. People have been shot, stabbed, electrocuted, etc, and they come back as zombies seconds later. Only when the brain is penetrated, they don't return.
Vazqueuz wasn't stabbed in the brain, so he should have returned as a living head only a few seconds after he was decapitated, but he didn't, which makes no sense as they show broke its own rules.
Decapitation severs the brain stem, the most rudimentary part of the brain the controls all basic functions.
shareYeah but they had that creepy doctor that gave Murphy his vaccine turn Zombie as just a head in a box. I agree that his body wouldn't turn. The part I thought was goofy, was having the hands crawl around, that didn't make any sense.
Sometimes stuff like this can be attributed to editing. I mean that you can assume that Warren delivered a skull splitting blow after the decapitation even if they didn't show it. It's kind of like saying, 'they should all be dead because they only showed them eating one meal in season 3' :-)
* edit *
Hmm.. I vaguely remember the drug guy holding Vasquez's head up at the end, that would blow my theory out of the water? It kind of sucks when the writers don't care anymore.
