I think you're taking things too seriously. Yes Kevin is making fun of Canada, but I don't think it's malicious... it seems like he actually likes Canada.
Being Canadian though I do find that the jokes get a bit tiring. They're all the same... aboot, eh, etc etc. No one really talks with that heavy an accent unless maybe they're on the East Coast.
I think this is actually a commentary on America. He's clearly pointing out the narrow view many Americans have. He's clearly mocking the Americans who need to compartmentalize anyone different by their simplest form. These Americans do the same to their own, "he's a gay doctor" not just a "doctor". Meaning, instead of looking at that doctor as someone who worked hard and continues to do so, and all the intricacies that go into that, many Americans simply call him a "gay doctor", this way we can just focus on the gay, because there's no intricacies to one's sexuality.
BTW, Tusk was erfing awesome. But let's just go see the same Superhero movie again instead, just in a different suit this time.
This is a smart guy or gal right here. Thank you for saying this. It's a shame this needs to be explained to some people. They just don't get it. Like I said in another post. What's the worst we say about Canada? They say EH and aboot? And that they are overly polite?! Oooooh noooooo!!!! Lol This shows how lame they are that they are so bothered by it.
you need to calm tf down eh and what can you do for America? ride down on your horses and throw bottles of Maple syrup at people to help us? lmao if you don't like the movies we make don't watch them its that easy (:
It's not making fun of Canada. Kevin Smith (who wrote/directed Yoga Hosers and is from New Jersey) and Scott Mosier (who hosts SModcast with Kevin and is from British Columbia) both love Canada and are actually obsessed with it. This film is a comedy taking place in Canada, and is meant to be in the same vein as Strange Brew, a famous Canadian movie.
