Oh man.

Why, Kev, why?

As much as I love Kev, I really don't get what he's doing. It's not even the "nepotism" thing, it's his movie he can make it with whomever he chooses, it's just why is he making movies like this?

I know that he's doing for himself, but at certain point it seems like you might want someone to like your films I'd think.

My thoughts exactly. I think he could and should be making better movies. I feel like he is wasting his talent and resources making a movie like this. It's kind of sad.

Too much weed.

Weed does not stymie creativity......

That being said, it's just they we all know that Smith is capable of brilliance and he's displayed that at times. Things started to get weird around Red State, which I thought was fine, but that's when things started to get a little hinky.

On the podcast he said that he makes all of this weird sh•• now because his View Askiew stuff was based in someway on his life (working at a gas station, hanging out at the mall) and that now he just has to make sh•• up.

Maybe it really is that simple.

He's like Robert Rodriguez and Eli Roth. They're amazingly talented but they keep making *beep* films. It's like they don't understand how lucky they are to be able to be in a position to make the films they want.

Maybe I'll end up disliking the film, but this for sure is going to be different, in a weird way, from what he's done, and I like that.

I haven't seen it but I'm not hearing super great things about it. Nevertheless, I heard that he's rebooting Buckaroo Bonzai. This is a perfect match for Kev I feel. I've not been clamouring for a remake, but THIS seems like something that would be right up his alley.

Weed may not stifle creativity, but it sure seems to make Smith think some of his sh*tty ideas are good ones.

It's a low budget B horror comedy that also spoofs today's teenagers, Canada, Nazis, and yoga, so it's not to be taken seriously. The two daughters had a cameo in TUSK, and this movie just wants to explore those characters more, because they turned out kind of funny in TUSK. The yoga poses were pretty funny, I thought, but like many youth comedies today, it's all hit and miss.

So, I say people should lighten up, and just let it go.

It was a fun movie IMO. Not like normal Kevin Smith at all.
