I WANTED to like it, but...
I don't know how I feel about this film.... do you?
I like Kevin Smith enough to check out his films. I loved Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Dogma, and Zach & Miri. The others (except for Cop Out) were entertaining enough, but I they were like "take it or leave it" movies for me.
Although TUSK is a very flawed film, I thought it was original and fascinating on many levels.
But.. YOGA HOSERS? I like the originality of it, but I also kept saying to myself, "This is a dumb movie."
I wanted to like the film. It's not that I did NOT like it, but I did not really like it either. For me, the music sequences were way to long. The bad CGI is forgivable because the film is pretty much a send-up to b-movies and Troma films.
The Canada jokes and the German accent jokes were overkill for me. I think they would have worked better if they just slightly pulled it back.
I know it's a fun cartoonish film, and I will probably watch it again, but I fully understand why people (and critics) don't like it.
At least, it's original. I do not know of any other film that is about Nazi sausages terrorizing two teenage Canadian girls
