Pile of s**t

Most brutal? Was tame as hell compared to
devils rejects. Boring too

i dont know how Rob Zombie wasnt able to make this movie fun to watch...all he needed was some cool scary violent clowns killing people in some gory violent ways and somehow he failed at it

reply

His funding fell thru from what I understand, and it ended up dialing the film back..

Totally agree, you hear that, and you say to yourself "Oh my god this is guna be *beep* awesome", and Rob Zombie, the man who made 2 of my favorite horror movies (Devil's Rejects and 1000 Corpses), managed to bore me. He managed to make me want to fast-forward do to boredom and lack of interest.

Just an overall let down

MikeDOpeLEss,

Same here man. It's a head scratcher. This could've easily been his most entertaining film. I too was bored and just completely underwhelmed by almost every aspect of the film. This was like a paint by numbers RZ movie. Completey phoned in across the board.

The only scene I dug was the chainsaw bro battle. I also liked Doom Head getting ready and punching himself but by that point I was almost fully checked out of the film.

Boring, horrible dialogue, some pretty bad acting, and in terrible need of editing (at least shave off 20 minutes). Garbage.

Huge disappointment.

Just finished watching it. Awfull.

I'm 45 minutes in and think I'll do myself a favour and turn this *beep* off.

Spoilers*

The biggest issues with the film were; Zero build up, no tension throughout, unlikeable vacuous protagonists(if you can even rightfully label them as such), and even more vacuously ignorant un-intimidating villains who all had the same exact personality traits.

The opening scene with Doomhead was okay. Then we have less than zero time with the protagonists, so we aren't attached to them. Which doesn't matter anyway as they were all annoying stereotypical morons. Then the plot just thrusts into action in a really awful, hamfisted way and our first villain is a spanish speaking midget wearing Nazi memorabilia.... So scary! Then a slew of other overly eccentric monologuing morons, who are all about as intimidating as a box full of cute cuddly puppies, pop up to tell our unlikeable main characters a few perverse jokes and threaten to make sexy time with all their holes and....... stuff...... and yeah that's about it.

Zombie could have at least given us a somewhat decent ending, but nope. He dropped the ball there too. I was expecting Doomhead to ask whats her face, if she wanted a ride. Which would have been at least darkly comedic and a little unconventional. But, nope.

^ Agree. This movie was a pile of *beep* EndeAbgrunds is 100% correct.

I couldn't even get through 45 minutes. I skipped through the rest and it didn't get any better. I agree with your criticisms. Opening was decent, that had Daniel Roebuck too though.

If I want to watch a Rob Zombie film, I'll just watch the 3 I already own a second time. I probably should get House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects on bluray. They deserve an upgrade.

reply

Yep, it just wasn't very interesting at all.
No surprises, no scares, no transgressive moments, or gruesomely creative bits... just a standard hunt and stab with a clown overlay.

I thought Meg Foster was fascinating to look at though.

If Rob Zombie's name wasn't attached to this it wouldn't get any coverage.
Just another run of the mill stalk & slash on par with a Saw sequel.
I would forgive it for being good bad, but it was just dull and overly satisfied with itself.

reply

I agree, it's the worst film I've seen in quite some time.
