My only guess is that they were apart of high society. A family of wealth with money to buy people and torture instead of works of art and diamonds.

They probably are the hollywood elite by day and blood thirsty demons by night.

They really don't go into much detail about them. My guess is that they were just sadistic rich ppl that made 31 a yearly ritual
