Question about the end...did she?

did Sheri's character die at the end? are we to assume that Doom-Head finished the job even though he was told to drop his weapons since she lasted the full 12 hours?

reply

Of course he kills her at the end. That's why it's such a bad and disappointing ending.

reply

I'd like to preface this by saying for years I have been a massive rob zombie fan and musically or theatrically I will defend his work no matter what.

However,

At the end of the film I think what we ultimately learn is that Rob blew his load in devils rejects and can't really make anything groundbreaking in horror since.

reply

Yeah, that was so far under what we should expect from him. If the movie were made by an 8th grader with no experience, it would be understandable.

I was disappointed we did not get to see her get killed after she killed us with such bad acting.

reply

I guess it was supposed to be a cool moment when she puts up a fight in the last scene, just to show how badass she became. But... thing is you are constantly rooting for Doom-Head haha.

reply

Certainly. I do not remember he being such a terrible actor in Rejects. Doomhead was friggin awesome. I wanted to see him kill everyone.

reply

I wasn't rooting for Doom head I was hoping Charly killed him.

reply

Same here. Was hoping we'd see Charley go primal on his ass and bite a chunk of his face off.

Wow not even an 8 year old could say something that retarded, bravo...

I used to love Devil's Rejects.

Watched it recently and realized that entire film hangs on it's soundtrack. That's what makes it good but realistically...it's kinda sh!t film too.

Voted biggest @sshole and role model of the year.

reply

I'm actually watching The Devil's Rejects right now and I still love it! Zombie's best movie by far.

reply

Wondered the same things. Hope she survived though.

reply

I don't think she had a chance to survive. He probably killed her. It didn't make sense to me at first but then I thought about it for a minute - he gets paid a lot of money to play by their rules, and he does. But after the game is over he just couldn't resist finishing what he started, being the monstrous killer that he is. His character is pretty much the only thing I liked in this movie.

reply

I was at least hoping it would end in a tie and hey both died.

reply

I thought more of a duel under the sun. He would like to fight her...

reply

If she'd had survived she would had told everyone where the game was played, so she obviously was killed.

reply

That would be my assessment as well; Doom Head probably didn't get paid (or at least his full amount) because he lost; Malcolm McDowell likely then sent Doom Head after Sherri to take care of any loose ends.

reply

We dont know what happens. It`s called an open ending..
