Zombie's Upbringing

Many people griping about this movie here have issues with how the characters are "white trash" making it difficult for a viewer to care about them when they get killed. People don't seem to realize that Rob Zombie's parents were carnival workers so even though these people don't seem normal to us, that's how he was raised, it was his reality...and the fact that some people are saying that because people are poor and not necessarily upstanding wonderful citizens that they care less about them when they get killed says more about them as a person than about Zombie. At any rate, artists write about what they know and Zombie clearly had a lot of experience with poor, drifters growing up so he ties that in to a lot of his work. If you haven't figured that out by now, then you will keep having the same gripe...if you continue to watch his films.

If I put my foot up yo ass will it be yo problem???

I didn't know that about him. I really don't see the "white trash" everyone mentions. they seem like hippies to me. But if you swear enough, I guess no one wants you to live. I was routing for the carnies. I didn't find any of them repellent. Vaguely uninteresting, poorly acted, sure. But I didn't hate any of them.
