This deserves far greater fanfare than it has been receiving - presumably because it is a cast of relative unknowns. I find it so refreshing to not play 'spot the GoT/Downton Abbey cast member' however, and think all the acting is really top notch.

It's the best period drama I've seen in years, better than War and Peace, which I liked very much.

Well, the English press seems to be focusing on the sex scenes

Agreed. I couldn't believe what a difference it made, not constantly trying to work out where I had seen people before! So much more enjoyable.

I wish more shows would introduce new faces instead of recycling the same ones over and over again.

Its great, I love it. The fan response has been positive as opposed to the British reviews
