Queens baby
Anyone else think the Queens baby was a bit dark for mixed race?
When my two were born they easily passed for white.
They're darker now but look more like middle eastern than black.

Genetics are a funny thing. My granddaughter, who is mixed race, looked nothing like my side of the family for the first six months of her life. Not her hair, coloring or eyes - today the opposite is true. I have cousins who were born with blue eyes which quickly became a shade of brown. Some kids look mixed and some don't. Some kids never get lighter or darker. I have a former co-worker (he's black, his wife is white - their kids never became darker as they got older - I have watched them get older and they are the same shade as when they were born. You never know what you will get - I am sure they made sure the Queen's baby would be darker, so we could talk about it today.
shareBut still,
that was one scary baby!!! It felt a little racist... Because we could see easly it was a robot and not a real baby...
Depends on how the genes mix: which ones are dominant in any individual.
"Active but Odd"
There have been cases where mixed race couples have had one baby who is black and the next baby is white.
It's that man again!!
A lot of European royalty had an African branch. Queen Charlotte is an example. She is obviously black in her portraits. She was the wife of King George III (1738-1820) of England.
She was a direct descendent of Margarita de Castro y Sousa of the African branch of the Portuguese royal family. The reason Queen Charlotte was so dark is that European royalty was so interbreed that she had no less than six hereditary lines going back to Margarita.
Her portrait was often used in stories about the Black Magi and the cult of the Black Madonna which was widespread in Europe. Through out Europe royalty coats of arms have a blackamoor's head on them. For very good reason.
I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
