I love the MC3 title song, as well as other songs they sing. Beauty is in the ear of the listener and their taste in music. This is a French production written for a wider (read British) audience. What is relevant to them is not necessarily popular to all markets where the show is aired. If you look at what's up for the Q awards vote this year you'll see Muse and 1975 are in many of the votes, which are considered alternative music, say in the States.

Ahh, I really like the title song. :(

(It was also used in the BBC nature series Africa during one of the "filming of" end clips, I can't recall which one though.)

It was also in the trailer for "Cloud Atlas". I always did love it.

I think the opening sequence is right up there with Game Of Thrones and The Crown for atmosphere and majesty.

This is the only show were I'll watch the opening titles because the music is wonderful! I live in the states and muse & 1975 is derivative millennial music.

When the protestant mother visits the torturer in his dungeon & they start having rough sex I swear to God the music playing is The Stooges' "Now I Wanna Be Your Dog". Kind of a brilliant choice actually.

I agree, it seemed like the show spent all the money on production design and by the time the score came around all they could afford was a guy with an 80's synth...

I liked the show otherwise.

I think the song for the opening credits is perfect. It's very ethereal & transcending. Also, I think mixing a modern song with a story & characters from 100's of years ago connects more with the audience.
