I have zero connection to the series but.....
I did find this interesting. Now it is not in anyway a masterpiece or what I would call great but it was interesting. I almost wish that instead of a movie they would have turned this into a documentary about the behind the scenes stuff.
But it was still fun to watch especially with some friends. I like that they did it from Diamond's perspective even though I doubt all what happened was true. I do believe however that Diamond did have a horrible stage parent. That probably contributed a lot to his behavior. You do end up feeling for the guy because he was awkward and young, and basically had to grow up in front of America. Constantly having to be the geek and embarrass yourself. Plus it seemed like he really had trouble making friends with any of the cast members. But really it had to be hard for all of them.
All in all it was interesting to watch what fame does to young people and what growing up while under the spotlight is like.
