They should have had two different actors playing Zack, or....

The guy cast as Zack was pretty awful but I suppose I could accept him in Mark's (Zack's) prepubescent phase. But Zack actually got a lot more mature and bigger as the show went on. He didn't look like a 12 year old by the time they graduated. One thing they could have done was cast two different actors, or had one actor that could look younger and older. Even the other actors aged a bit on the actual show but the casting was more or less fine for this movie. However, the casting for Zack was so freaking bad IMO.

Yeah, look-wise the kid playing Zach was terrible. Sound-wise though, the girl playing Elizabeth was awful. Her accent kept going in and out.

I agree with the OP , I myself was thinking that. But at the same time Dustin when he started as screech on Miss Bliss looked much younger then it is portrayed on the film. The looks were all over the place in that films.
Zack looked too young , Screech too old etc

All the actors looked too young. Mark and Tiffani drinking wine in Paris, Mark and Mario throwing back alcohol at some wild house party, and Dustin taking swigs out of a flask like some 40 year old divorced drunk. They all looked like 12-13 year olds.

They should've cast lookalike siblings (one younger, one older) to play each role during their development. I know it was a low-budget Lifetime production, but knowing how popular and iconic "SBTB" is I'm sure a lot of hopefuls would've flocked to casting calls. The producers could've found actors who more closely resembled the original cast. I'm not a fan of Justin Bieber's but even he could've played Mark Paul-Gosselaar better.

I thought he was OK, but that wig was awful....

Yeah that was my biggest gripe. Zack Morris did not have the same hairstyle during the entire "SBTB" run.
