"YOU DON'T... STEAL... A *beep* COP CAR."

Jesus Christ, Kevin Bacon was badass in this movie, his best performance in years.

This movie was great. I absolutely loved it.

Loved how slow-burning it was, but it was so intense at the same time. The kids were great actors, the theme song is catchy as hell, I loved how visual the movie was and how it was written, the way it left a lot of the plot up to your imagination really put you in the place of the kids.

Also, without spoiling it, I loved how it darkly hilarious it was, but got super emotional near the end. Absolutely love this flick.

Can't wait to see the director tackle Spider-Man.

yup instead of initiating pit maneuver on untrained monkeys he just rammed his own car, all bad ass and no brains

Well to be fair he was high off his ass on coke and bleeding from multiple gunshots. If I were in a state like that, logic wouldn't be my main concern.

The pit maneuver may have been a little difficult to pull off in the physical state he was in...

What exactly is 'pit maneuver'?

I loved it too...I was soo happy for the kids when they first started screwing around with the car. I think you would enjoy Blue Ruin - the plot is totally different but the atmosphere is similar.

Blue Ruin was so good, probably one of the best revenge films I've seen lately. There's also a semi-sequel or something like that by the same director called Green Room that has Patrick Stewart as a skinhead gang leader. I'm hyped beyond belief for that one.

Cool I will add this to my watchlist!

Agreed. Best I've seen from Bacon in years. Perfect tight-walk between hilarious and creepy.

I went into the movie cold and mostly because I saw Bacon's name in the cast. I had no idea the director (Watts) is doing the next Spiderman movie. Then I saw that he did the horror movie Clown which I thought was very good and had nice special effects and a great monster design. I am super excited for this Spiderman reboot!!!

Same, I saw it because of Bacon and it was heaps and bounds above what I expected. I've yet to see Clown, but I think I'm gonna dig it after this. Glad to see this guy gets work with the new Spider-Man, he has some legit talent.

That was a very 1930's - 50's Golden Age of movies trope of distinctly including the title of the movie in the dialogue.

I haven't seen that in years. An odd throwback.

It doesn't seem extraordinary to me that the words 'cop car' should be used by two kids driving one. Maybe a bit more so that the sheriff used the same term when talking to the kids but still well within the bounds of reality and film convention. (I would have to re-view 'Titanic' to be sure that I am correct in believing that someone mentioned the name therein.)
