As usual America's prudish. I should know. I'm American, LOL! This film shouild have been rated PG-13 for "disturbing content" and nothing more than that. The nudity was not as extreme and "graphic" as the MPAA, in its religious fervor, lead me to believe.
Violence-wise? There was "movie blood" and an autopsy scene, but ... sheesh, go to any American horror films and you'll see buckets of gore and nary an "R" rating in sight!
** There MUST be more than one way to skin this Cat! **
Don't even get me started on the idiocy of the rating system.
Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar, and / or doesn't.
What's wrong with that rating? Given that the audience is treated to the sound of people screaming as they're being gassed and the sight of all their bodies being dragged so callously within the opening ten minutes, did you expect them to rate it as they did Bambi?
