Awful message and movie

It's definitely obvious that this movie is a bad young adult novel turned into a bad movie.

I'm a big fan of the ya genre, but many books in that genre idolize guys that are "broken" and need to be fixed. Or just guys with a "fault" such as Noah's and the main character is suddenly able to fix him (or just calm him) and turn him around by the power of their love.

I haven't read the book, but the movie shows me that it's sub par. Cliche, to say the least.

I'm a fan of Joey King. I hope she can do better movies in the future.

Noah had classic abuser signs the girl was oblivious too.

Noah had classic anger issues that were never dealt with and made no sense in the story.

He also very definitely had classic abuser signs.

Awful movie.

The real message is that if you are a jock with documented anger issues and no academics, you can still get into Harvard if you have great hair.
