New age for musicals/ movies about music?
Do you think Chazelle could be bringing a new age of musicals or music-based movies? Spielberg has West Side in plans...
Yes, Spielberg has West Side Story, but there is already a great film of that. And Tom Hooper is working on a possible
Cats film. As much as I'd like to think of a trend to musicals it's probably not.
But this is an original thing (which no doubt WOULD in the future become a musical!).

seen mentions this, which would be a salient point. So I wondered if you had seen something to that effect.
Actually I did try to compare the cases of West Side Story and La La Land if had been done as musicals, West Side Story as a film one and La La Land as a stage one, a la Legally Blonde and Hairspray,for instance.:)
