Dreams vs reality

That could be dangerous depending on what you mean by realistic. If it means "keep good counsel," "be aware" and "strategize well," that is its positive version.

But it's much more common for people to mean by realistic "The odds are against you," which does nothing but add to those odds by enflaming fear that will have you turn against yourself.

Dreaming, in the sense of it in this movie, springs from what is most alive in us. It's not idle fantasizing, it's a call to action to make real who we were born to be.

But, as Mia's "Audition" song tells us, daring to act on that call involves risk and sacrifice and boldness, even a little arrogance because fundamentally it's saying "Never mind what's real, I'm going to create a new reality in spite of it."
