Ryan Gosling performance not oscar worthy. not that impressive.

Gosling and Stone were really good and they will probably both win Oscars just because the movie is sweeping up all the awards already, and they were a big part of its success. For the type of movie it was they were great, but there are many other more challenging roles that other actors have nailes.

The performance itself may not be Oscar-Worthy. I can agree with that.

I think he got nominated for all the things he had to learn. No only did he have to remember lines, but he had to sing and dance, as well as learn to play the piano.

I can agree that Stone gave a better acting performance, but the extent to what she, as well as Gosling had to learn was pretty hefty. Lots of hard work and long hours to learn all that stuff.

see i don't see this 'one was better than the other'. i didn't come out of 'la la land' crying because of Mia, i came out crying because of BOTH OF THEM. i don't understand how emma is sweeping and ryan is not. it's like when reese witherspoon won the oscar for 'walk the line' but not joaquin phoenix. his role was way harder. HOW?
