Whiplash vs. La La Land
Even though I really loved both of them, I have to go with Whiplash. It's fast, quick and just amazing. What are your thoughts?

shareThey're both brilliant for different reasons...you're right, Whiplash is taut and intense from the first frame to the last. LLL is more relaxed but bittersweet. For me, it depends on what type of mood I'm in. I can say that Whiplash holds up. It would have been my selection for the Academy Award.
shareWhiplash is a far better movie and yet it received less awards which says something about the Oscars La La Land is overrated
shareWhiplash will be remembered in ten years. La La Land won't.
shareLa La Land is overrated.
Whiplash is brilliant piece of film making.
La La Land over Whiplash. If Whiplash came before Black Swan, I would say differently. Either way, Whiplash is just a rip off of Black Swan shot uglily and acted atrociously. JK Simmons is a cartoon character, Miles Teller can't act or drum for *beep* and the musical is terrible. They modernized classic Jazz musical to the point where it is unpleasant and loud like those *beep* Metal bands. It was also predictable from start to finish and completely unrealistic. Black Swan did it 10x better and is way more visceral through just ballet dancing. Should've chosen someone who could actually act and drum fast. Miles Teller is a pussy and slow af.
shareChazelle may never make a better film than Whiplash.
La La Land is only okay.
