John Hancock-- Starting to grow on me now

After the first episode, I was sort of on the fence about the portrayal of Hancock. Thought the character was sort of weak, effeminate, a bit of a milk toast, though I was a bit amused by some of his behavior (i.e. the speech he gave at his party, ignoring the Gov, etc.).

After last night's episode, I think his character is really stealing the show. His cheapness, getting his house stolen, generally being the dude that tells everyone their plans suck, etc. Great comic relief, good guy to have around, cuts the checks after bitching a bit, and ultimately serves as somewhat of an "everyman" view of the various circumstances being presented, such as telling Sam Adams that he's crazy, yet still going out on these crazy missions for comic relief. Good wit too.

I agree. I liked him better after part 2 as well!

I like him to, does anyone else notice that the actor seems to have kind of based his portrayal on Tom Hulce in Amadeus? I don't know if he actually did it on purpose but the character really reminds me of Hulce's Mozart.

Yes!!!! Spot on.

Agreed! He was a little odd at first, but I'm enjoying him now.
