LA Times article blasting this pos for historical errors. Link provided!

I hate the history channel now and it used to be my favorite channel. I hate History, Discovery, and Animal Planet now. They're the crowning achievement of the concentrated effort by TV execs, faux experts, and wannabe celebrities committed to the dumbing down of American television audiences in the 21st century in the name of a fast buck.

Yes I thought all of this through and I do have no life. Thank you for reminding me.

I read the article and have no problem with the complaints about not including the philosophical ideas of patriot leaders in forging the new nation. However, that is difficult to make that kind of content entertaining, especially to a mass audience. John Adams, the HBO series, did a better of job of this.

However, the article was not completely negative about Sons of Liberty. At the end of the article it states the show different a good job (which I agree with) treating the killing of young Christopher Seider, the battle scenes at Lexington & Concord, and the Battle of Bunker Hill.

Despite the inaccuracies (particularly the portrayal of Samuel Adams), I enjoyed the series. It depicted some major events in the Revolution very well and left me with some sense of what is was like at that time in Massachusetts. Without the courage, tenacity and foresight of the colonists in Massachusetts, it is questionable if there would have ever been an American Revolution.
