Love that closing shot. Fantastic production values. Good acting. Nothing particularly new but still very entertaining. Don't understand the hate except of course the requisite hateful Internet nerds. Recommended for intelligent viewers with good taste.
Funny you say that. Given all the criticism being thrown at this series for not being historically accurate, I must say, I don't consider myself a particularly patriotic person, but that last shot -- with the flag waving on the battlefield -- did make me feel rather proud and well, America-positive. I don't think that's a bad thing. So thank you historically inaccurate piece of entertainment.
The whole scene at the end reminded me of the ending of Braveheart. All we needed was narration saying, "they fought like Americans...and won their freedom...." but that would have made it too obvious. The Battle at Bunker Hill also reminded me of Braveheart....Maybe I just need to watch Braveheart again. I did enjoy "Sons of Liberty" overall.
