Tyranny? Oppression?

Lol, American colonials had the highest standard of living in the world, even more so than the English who were saddled with the taxes to defend the 13 colonies.
No, today, we know the actual truth; in that the so-called revolution was nothing more than a land and power grab putting prime real estate into the hands of a very few and tear up the Indian Treaties that the Brits honored, giving those same few access to vast lands to the west, land that was and has never been theirs, taken from th Indian at the barrel of a gun and deliberately disease-ridden blanket killing thousands, essentially genocide, and for what? So we could be 'free'? We were already the freest people on the planet, Magna Carta gave us that right, a right no-one else in the world had along with English Common Law, the system that promoted democracy around the world. 'Oppression', Tyranny', what a sick farce.

And what about the poor black slaves who had been given their freedom by the English?
Tortured and.BLINDED for daring to be free once their 'masters' got back hold of them, thank God a lot made it into Canada and the Caribbean on English ships otherwise the slaughter could have been far worse.
