Why did he dump the girl he had a connection with for ashley only to dump ashley an hour later and leave paradise? Way to waste everyone's time.

Yeah. Jamie seemed to be a fun-loving, yet level-headed and extremely loyal girl-next-door type. One would assume that Wells would naturally gravitate towards her, since she was so drama-free. I'm not sure if Wells actually knew what he wanted... I don't see why it was all such a dilemma for a seemingly logical-minded guy.

I think the producers encouraged that decision a lot. That is the only way I can make sense of it. Ashley is great TV and they are dying to have her lose her v-card on the show. Just glad he didn't take it that far. I can't believe Ashley was actually going to do that! I wonder how Wells feels watching her say she would sit on his privates!

100% Agree

I've seen some interviews and behind the scenes stuff featuring the Bach producers and they are definitely a slimy crew who thrive on the stupidity of contestants like Ashley. I think it would be their crowning achievement to see her lose her virginity on the show, especially if she is an emotional train wreck afterwards. I imagine them sitting in their little production trailers taking bets on when it will happen and who the guy will be.

I think Wells was just not THAT into any of the girls. He liked hanging out with them but maybe realized none of them were really "the one" for him. Also, its super awkward to know people are watching you on tv, knowing you are about to go have sex in some suite. I have a lot of respect for him for saying..no, Im not doing this, Im going home. He seems like a good guy to me.

I think Wells was just not THAT into any of the girls. He liked hanging out with them but maybe realized none of them were really "the one" for him. I kind of agree. He probably just picked Ashley for 2 reasons. First, Ashley, had him fooled. She played it very calm, cool and collected around him. That's why he said she was different than what he thought. Second, he probably figured that it didn't matter which on he picked b/c the next day was fantasy suites and he wasn't going to go through with it. Since, everyone pushed Ashley on him, I think he just decided to go with her, because it was the more popular choice.

This was the reason. Well that and the producers probably wanted a 'dramatic breakup' before the fantasy dates and knew they'd get that with him and Ashley I.
