I didn't get it at first, because what was the point of cutting Izzy loose in favor of the teacher woman (Leah? no...drawing a blank), if he didn't actually feel like he was gelling with either of them? Because then the teacher thought that he had chosen her over someone else, thus giving her hope of something more happening. If I were him, I would have let both women stay until the rose ceremony and not expressed a clear preference for either, then letting them both down at the same time.
However - I did appreciate his method way more than Wells, who essentially only kept Ashley for another 12 hours before deciding it wasn't worth it anyway. And for once Ashley was making perfect sense - just because you take the last date doesn't mean it's super serious or heading toward a proposal. It would have given them more time together to figure it out, no pressure. (altho I do not blame to guy for cutting ties there!)
In the episode where he went on a surfing double date, even Wells noticed Brett had a hot ass!
