If it hasn't happened already no doubt it's inevitable that Billy Dee Williams will be made to give feigned approval of the bastardized retcon f*ckery Di$ney is pulling with the iconic character he helped create. Unfortunately he doesn't have nearly enough pull to resist the machine. I'm sure it's been made perfectly clear to him in no uncertain terms that it's either go along or be gone.

Well for one throwing in this idea that Lando harbors any degree of unrequited homosexual attraction towards Han alters the dynamic of their friendship and rivalry, no different than if another hack writer were to come along and decide Batman has a secret longing for Robin & enjoys young male flesh despite the ladies in his life.
It's also interesting that of all the characters they could have messed around with they go with the ultimate ladies man and the only (very)straight black male icon in Star Wars as the one selected for this Di$ney approved retcon as Mr. screw anything.

I can't help the fact that you're stuck on this one movie and fail to grasp the concept that altering a character goes beyond a single film project. Aside from that, even in this one specific film It's been suggesting by people working on this film & people who have scene it at this point that Lando has "minor" flirtatious interactions towards Han on more than one occasion. Lando suggestively regarding Han as "cute" and calling him "baby" is already a significant departure of the character & his dynamic with Han. I'm not even getting into the nonsense with the droid.

That was kind of predictable. He's the black diverse character, he will be the best character in the movie. Then women, then furry, and finally Han Soyboy Soylo.
Actually he's an iconic OT character connected to Han Solo's past so it would be absurd not to include him. Of course the nonsense they're pulling with the character is another conversation entirely.
