Star Wars origin stories that might work better than this one?

I'm not the only one who's a bit dubious about a Han Solo story that doesn't star Harrison Ford or Billy Dee Williams, are there any Star Wars prequel stories you think would be genuinely cool?

I think the story of Obi-Wan's years in exile might work, if he secretly helped the rebels or fought the Hutts when he wasn't sitting around waiting for Luke to grow up. Others want to see the story of the stormtrooper who hit his head in ANH, or the harrowing tale of how the kitchen staff escaped from the Death Star as it blew up. But what I most want to see is the thrilling adventures of the handmaidens of the Queen of Naboo! I'm sure that they acted as diplomats and courtiers when they weren't letting assassins take pot shots at them or actually filling in as queen, they had to be acting as double agents or having affairs with the crème de la crème of Naboo, or the Imperial Senate...
