This is what I call "a 3-minutes-more movie"...*spoilers*

There are countless movies out there with ambiguous endings. As long as the characters won't learn the truth either I am relatively OK with it. Don't like it but I accept it, even forgive it if after some thinking you end up with a relatively safe conclusion about what happened.

There are some movies though that it seems like they ran out of film a few minutes before the ending. What I call a 3-minutes-more movie. This is a stellar example of such a movie. All what is happening will be explained moments after the remaining two will climb the ladder to the surface. It was a catastrophic event and the message was prerecorded? It was all part of the simulation?

Just a couple of minutes more and a clever conclusion might transofmed this movie to something good.
But...

I think if you think that 3 more minutes would have been able to explain everything, you're a gosh darn moron.

The Cube. That movie never explained the cube (the sequels made little sense & were different writers I believe so moving on...) The Cube COULD have been explained with the 3 minutes more idea, but that would not have made a better movie, in fact, it would likely have taken away from it. An explanation in the final moments may or may not be good for the film, and it may or may not be needed. THIS movie I doubt could have been saved with 3 minutes more. If it's a simulation, if its a cataclysm, if its hallucination, nothing can save this movie.
