Zell Insists There Were Only Two of Them


Why? Was he trying to fool them or was the movie showing the point of view, of a delusion?

I think he was trying to make them think they were crazy, that the other two didn't exist.

I agree that he just wanted them to think they were crazy, because later in the ship he told Theo that his friends were back in the town and he wanted to take him to them...or something like that.
Zell could have been humoring him, but we can't be sure because he did put down his knife first and maybe never meant to hurt Theo until Theo attacked him with the table.

Correct. Zell was in on it. It was all part of the test.

As far as actors go, Zell was the best part of the film... BY FAR...

I keep re-watching the Zell parts. Tom Cavanagh is an amazing actor.

Who the hell knows? The whole second half of the movie makes no sense.
