Most depressing thing I've seen in a film in so long time. The way they grab each other and freeze as the image goes red disturbed the hell out of me. If you look closely, they continue moving slightly over the credits. I took it as a representation of Murphy's"ultimate desire" at the moment, to stop time and become a living statue with Electra, entwined in an embrace that will never end. It was too beautiful, so much that it became terrifying on a spiritual level.

I don't know how you do it, Gaspar, but give me a few years to recover and I'll be glad to watch the next film.

I actually didn't get the ending - were there any sign of whether Electra is still alive or dead?
Maybe the kid was reincarnation of her (inspiring from Enter the Void)?

I think Electra is dead to Murphy, and the baby is a reincarnation of her. Noe loves the themes of death, rebirth, reincarnation, etc. It's his thing.

Always look for the positive in every situation.
