Didn't grab me as much as the first one. Tried too hard to sell the whole idea that he was doing jobs for local people (the old man thing was especially pointless).
And the motivations of the bad guys were pretty vague and weak.
It felt too much like a by-the-numbers action thing where they end up fighting on a tall building (except it was an abandoned town).
Still like the character and the concept though. Hope there's a third.
I'd agree that it wasn't as good as the first but I still really enjoyed it. I also hope there is a third movie! Love characters that go around using vigilante justice.
shareYeah. Must be difficult to find a fresh feeling story line for a movie of this type but this was quite tired. Perhaps they could find some better ideas in the original TV series?
And speaking of the original - perhaps he could drive a Jaguar at some stage as a homage?
I agree it wasn’t as good although I still enjoyed it as a movie to watch on Netflix.
I was however disappointed with the whole ‘fight during a hurricane’ sequence and just found it completely unnecessary and over the top.
The film would have done better to keep ratcheting up the ‘cat and mouse’ tension like they had done with the scene where Miles hid in the bookcase.
Still, I’d be up for a 3rd movie for sure as McCall is a fascinating character.
haha I just finished reading the comments on the first movie, and no one liked it. now no one likes part 2 as it's not as good as part 1?!

I noticed exactly the same. I bet the reviews for the 3rd movie will say "not as good as 1 and 2...".
shareOhh, I liked the first one. It's over the top with near invincible reaction power by Denzel, but it had an interesting story to help the normal people. In this one it gets topped by his old friend getting murdered, which is also a good motive, but the bad guy is a inside traitor is feeling weak. And that it's never fully explained why exactly they betrayed the company, is not helping. Melissa Leo seems to have a very nice life style, Pedro Pascal also does not looked like he really needed to do blacklist jobs. I think, it had helped, if Denzel had find out, that the whole company wanted to clean up things finally or that his friend was actually also in the traitor game and Pedro just wanted a fast promotion.
