What was the point of this movie? Why was it made?

Isn't Into the Wild (2007) a better movie than this in every regard?

Probably cause its based on a true story.

I think that is the ONLY reason. Watching it now and wish I would of read some of this prior. :)

I didn't see Into The Wild but I get the question. My guess is once Daniel Radcliffe signed on they got the money. And no one thought about the fact that, even though this might've happened and one of the guys wrote a book about it(?) which was then read and thought would make a great movie, the guys are stupid - not brave. I have no empathy for Yossi. And you can't make a silk purse movie out of a sow's ear script, so to speak.
