It isn't a version of anything, it is a true story, as accurate as possible except a bit dramatized in places (that's what 60 Minutes said).

But like your argument was on the General Discussion, again, they are using international actors instead of U.S. ones. Then again it was an Australian directed movie; however, I am sure the Indian ethnic in Australia felt bad that they could not act in it.
