Plot hole *SPOILER*

Kids who were abducted by the ghost on Halloween can only be returned one year after being taken. Kids abducted for more than one year become trapped in the ghost world. Mia, the little Asian girl, was missing for five years. How was Nic Cage able to bring her back?

Tennessee-B: Mia, the little Asian girl, was missing for five years. How was Nic Cage able to bring her back?
When Jordan pulled up their files it said "Missing since October 31" on both Mia and Pablo. They had not been missing for 5yrs. Only since they previous Halloween.

reply

I guess I missed that. Was it the junkie's daughter who had been missing for five years?

reply

Well, it was easy to miss. I only caught it because I paused the movie to see what the papers said. The junkie's daughter came up missing 2yrs prior.

reply

Thanks. So the junkie's daughter was forever lost inside that ghost world.

reply

The junkie also stated his daughter had gone missing two years prior.

It's not a plot hole, you just weren't smart enough to pay attention. In the future, whenever you find an "error" in a movie, realize the problem is you, not the movie.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

reply

That's true. I'm always at fault when I think something goes wrong. I am to blame. I have failed at life. Do you have any other sage wisdom to share with me? I really need your input.

reply

Calm your tits. Be civil. This isn't 4chan.

reply

That's pretty harsh.

reply

We're a distracted society. It's not that hard to miss something, important or otherwise, due to someone else in the room making a comment, the phone ringing, text alert on a smartphone, etc.
"Not paying attention for a moment" has nothing to do with one's intelligence, ability to decipher a plot, etc...

...and Mrs. Taylor sure seems to use a lotta ice, whenever he's away

Plot hole? Plot hole???

The fricking movie is about some made up ghost in some fake-arsed religion (made-up accounts for all religions, so don't think I'm playing favourites), a ghost-spirit thingy that steals children on Halloween. Every Halloween. And the entirety of the NYPD hasn't, in all these years, noticed an odd trend. And, before they get all stolen and junk, the children all say some spooky crap about 'go put a quarter in the ghostmeter.' And NYPD doesn't notice that, either. And there just happens to be some crazy, blind guy who knows where the portal to New Jersey is. In the middle of monkey-flipping New York City.

...and with all of that, you're seriously yapping about plot holes?

reply

Then who was the kid he brought back? Why didn't they show those two reunited with their parents?
