Spoiler alert - query

I found it funny that the blind man takes his watch (Cage) and then tells him that he must be back by midnight or be trapped on the other side. Off Cage goes with the blind man's torch but with no way to tell what time it is - unless His I-phone can receive a signal where others can't -maybe it was an i7.

Haha that's a good point. Why did he want the watch anyway - as collateral?

I think that scene is giving us some mythology. Wasn't there a guide that would lead you to the other side but you had to pay whatever property of value you had with you or something? I think he was such a guide or better still, a guardian at the gateway to the other side.

Charon was the ferryman for Hades. You had to pay him a coin.
