That safe?

Well, the stupidity of Elijah Wood's character in being so naive to think that the woman has nothing to do with the vault and that he could have gotten away alive, if she didn't use the phone, was one really irritating part that has been discussed a lot.

Now, let's talk about the safe. So, this is a secret criminal organisation with a vault full of diamonds worth millions (may be billions)and they do not even have motion sensors of any kind or vibration senors and heat sensors? I mean the second they breached the ceiling of the vault, there should have been a silent alarm and the whole movie should have been over shortly after.

yeah with what they found its laughable he would let her use the phone it was way too obvious. What i would have preffered was what you suggested in the lower spoiler to be the case then half way through vans arrive but are noticed so using what they found in the cupboard it becomes all out war to the end

reply

I liked the ending really but I would have preferred if she didn't make the call but they triggered a silent alarm instead. Could have been the same movie, just a different cut. That way it would have been a bit more surprising that she's a pro. Like only when she pushes him out of the driver seat and stops the car in time you really know.

And not the scene with the "ticket with your name on it!" either because you know he would have killed him anyway.

So you believe she's a "professional" because she has a desire to NOT die?? If you found yourself in a car with a dead driver, don't you think you'd get your ass in the front seat and stop it before it crossed/intersected another road?
Just in time??? She did it as fast as she could and BARELY got it stopped due to luck, it had nothing to do with being a professional.

reply

Dude, as soon as Elijah was shoot she stopped sobbing, got her hands in the front, cold and calculated and stopped the car.

A real hostage in her position would've panicked even more after he was shot.

reply

She wasn't new to guns, she knew exactly what was going to happen when she called her cavalry in... she wanted to be distracting whilst he was driving.

reply

Totally agree. Sky F. did a great job scrambling around in that van to save herself. Very coordinated!

That would have been a very boring movie.

"This life's hard, man, but it's harder if you're stupid!"
