Both are clearly far from inept cops. Yet...(spoiler alert)

there's a hugely expensive concrete and steel reinforced vault, with potential millions and millions inside. Which also just happens to have someone sitting directly above it who NEVER leaves it. Yet, neither cop's instincts even remotely suspect a possible direct connection?

No man lies so boldly as the man who is indignant.

Err... it's a bit weird, and I think the script was sort of messed up.

In one part of the film, they were talking about someone watching the place and that they had to take care of that person (Cage character suggested tying him up). I'm pretty sure they were talking about the person on the second floor.

At the same time, when they find guns in that apartment, they flip out. It doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't the watcher of a place which is frequented by drug sellers who store their bounty in the safe not have a crapload of guns?

reply

You're both functionally retarded huh... the people above the safe WERE the watchers, which to me makes the initial 'rush' into the apartment unlikely... also the hidden weapons should've been more readily accessible in such an instance.

Also the possibility that the security guard was in on it, nothing better then making a few extra grand for take a few extra swings by that area a night.

reply

Aren't you that's retarded? I did point out that they were talking about a watcher early in the film and the people on the second floor were likely the ones the ones they were talking about. It's their reaction to finding guns that made very little sense - and there were plenty of guns that were readily accessible, such as the gun.

You don't need to defend a dumb script error.

neither of the cops knew they were watchers untill they found the guns.
thats why they flipped out when they found them.

what also caught my attention was the way Woods acted when Cage shot the watcher. he looked at the body, then stared at Cage
his story sounded pretty weird too, he said: he came after me and dragged the girl with him.
the thing is, he was bound by his hands, so what was he going to do?

I think Cage just shot him because he is a psycho

do you like what you see?

He shot him because he spat on his jacket.

"Throughout the film, Stone comes off as a whacky dude who just might be crazy enough to pull off a big heist. He seems harmless yet calculated."

As soon as they saw him kill the gun dealer by the waterfront the way he did earlier, astute viewers knew he was not harmless.

They are regular cops who put themselves in a stressful situation that clouded their thinking.
