I think this was the first time I've seen Kong portrayed as a Great Protector. The special effects were astonishing! Aside from all the scenes of destruction I loved the scene where Kong rescues the woman photographer from drowning. Great empathy from a giant ape!

A well-made, throughly entertaining, visually pleasing and roaring Kong film with a stellar cast. It’s hard not to like it (for me), the usual detractors notwithstanding.

Such a damn good time.
