They a cult?

They look more like a bunch of cultists than just angsty hippy kids. Lotta peeps complaining that this is about hippy kids with parent issues or something, who knows maybe it is, but to me it seems like there's more to it. This girl seems to be a typical troubled youth who gets picked up by this group, and ends up finding herself over her head.

I mean, at least I hope there's more to it than hippy love and freedom lol. I doubt I'll see it in theaters but i'll watch it eventually

Boringest *beep* cult ever.

Not a cult. But they have enough rituals to be one.

It's not a cult, and the protagonist doesn't get in over her head with them. Throughout the film it's not clear how strong her sense of belonging is, but she is free to leave at any time and there is no emergent psychological barrier to doing so (as you see with cults).

Krystal is much more like the manager of a band than a charismatic cult leader.
