her daughter ? Michael ?

Will they show up dammit?? Will it be the same actress playing the daughter and will Scott speedman be Michael? Or will they use that lame guy they used in Awakening right before that underwater bomb goes off?

reply

Right?! Wtf?! It seems like they totally have up with that story line. I don't know if I'm even going to see this movie im so pissed!

reply

according to the trailer they seem to be dead. they've never done those storylines justice then again maybe they'll show them as alive at the end and set it up for a sequel

they pulled that stunt in Awakening, I hope they don't repeat it

reply

after the last one i think there is no level they won't stoop to lol

reply

Back before they even announced this movie they did say there were going to be 2 more movies and a short tv series.

reply

I'm not convinced Michael is actually dead.

reply

I would like to see definitive proof that Michael is dead.

reply

I hope the daughter doesn't return. Awakening was truly awful, because of that movie I'm more on the fence with this movie.

reply

maybe pay better attention ;) ;)

clearly the cast list says that Hybrid Michael returns
it's not Scott Speedman but Trent Garrett:

On the casting front, several names are confirmed to return from the previous movie, including Theo James and Charles Dance. One Underworld vet who definitely won’t be coming back is Speedman, who has once again declined to reprise the role of Selene’s love and engineered werewolf/vampire hybrid Michael Corvin.

I heard back when the fourth came out that Speedman wasn't even asked to be in it. Apparently he was quite surprised at not being asked when they used his likeness in that quick scene towards the end - I wouldn't be surprised if he turned down any future roles in the movies based on that alone. Not to mention, none of the sequels have been even half as good as the original (although I did like the prequel).

I don't buy that for one second. If Speedman really declined to reprise his role ever again, then the obvious solution would have been to either kill his character off for good or recast the role. There is no need for a Scott Speedman look-alike if Scoot Speedman was completely finished with this franchise.

Don't worry, Michael's death is confirmed in this movie.

Oh I know. I didn't plan on watching the movie anyway due to lack of consistency and no show characters (Eve and Michael). Having Michael dead just makes it easier to say goodbye to this franchise. I love movies 1-3 too much to accept this new crap as anything other than a different universe.

reply

I agree with you, I'm kinda fine when Michael reduced to a CGI cameo in the Awakening because they want to build up their daughter more but I became really hyped after knowing the he escaped at the end of the movie.

But now knowing that he will be killed here(maybe an off-screen death?), that will be lame, Michael is my favorite character in this franchise, 2nd is Selene. He is a Hybrid Werewolf/Vampire he cannot be killed.

I have no patience for what they are doing in this new trilogy. It's the equivalent of throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks. The problem with that is that it makes for one plot ridden nonsensical story. From what I gather the Purges will be completely ignored here. So why did they make that a main theme in Awakening then? Why bother with Eve (and ditching Michael in the process) if you just get rid of her in the next one too? What is the point of this new trilogy? The first 3 movies are one story. What the hell are the new movies even about?

But Michael can't be killed (except by beheading probably) and if he is really dead after this then these writers really think we are stupid. Michael can't be killed via blood loss and anyone who has seen Evolution knows this. So unless the lycans burned or dismembered the body after then the death we see is BS. And Selene should freaking know this herself since she was there in Evolution.

reply

Casting a younger actor makes sense. After all these characters are immortal, they don't age, but unfortunately the actors portraying them do. So it's expected that they would have either killed him off, or recast him eventually.

But it's sad they didn't expand on the daughter thing that went on in the last film. I kinda liked the idea of a female hybrid kicking ass.

reply

India Eisley & Scott Speedman will not be in blood wars they might use flashbacks for India but that's it & Scott is being played by a younger actor

reply

Don't care about Scott Speedman, but it's weird if her daughter have vanished out in oblivion.

I think they should've rebooted the whole franchise without Kate Beckinsale, instead of making a fifth installment.

reply

Selene comments in the trailer that she doesn't know where her daughter is. I'm thinking, since she can see through her father's eyes from time to time in close proximity, she went to search for him while Selene was probably stuck leading the vampires from Awakening.
I'm thinking/hoping, that at the end of this movie, whenever the war is finally resolved, it will end with Selene attempting to leave all this bloodshed behind and seeking out Michael and Eve.

reply

i'm guessing that them hunting her daughter is what motivates her to get back into the game. since there is a sixth movie planned i don't know if she'll end the feud by the end of this movie.

reply

Eve and Michael both appear in one scene each.
Michael is played by a different actor.
I'm honestly not sure if Eve was played by the same person.
