I'm not sure if I'm the only one but Michael and Selena's relationship made this series for me. If Speedman isn't back in this one, I'm not interested in watching it.

The only thing he's doing lately is Animal Kingdom which has a very light production schedule. Something like 10 episodes a year. So I'd be surprised if he passed. I bet they didn't offer him an in or didn't ask enough.

shareI'm willing to bet anything if Sony or someone had taken away some control over this franchise from Len Wiseman we would have Scott Speedman as Michael in these last 2 movies. I'm believing it more and more that Len booted Speedman. Scott has always said that if there was something decent for him to do in these movies he would return.
shareI was disappointed Speedman wasn't in the last Underworld and will be disappointed again that he isn't in this one...But I will still watch it. Hopefully he will be in the next...if there is one.
shareit may sound strange, but I got more romantically out of the ideal of the romance. the music and soundtrack, the posters, and honestly I got more out of the simple romance flashback of Lucian grabbing Sonja's pendant. I just didn't feel like the writers really cared about the love story other than a plot device.
shareIt's sad he did not play in the last movie, but from what I know he did not want to come back, and I am very happy that Kate Beckinsale is back, she is for me Underworld, and also happy that Theo James and Charles Dance are back.
I am a BIG fan of the Underworld movies and going to see this next movie Saturday in the cinema, can't wait to see it, the new trailer looks great.

shareSame. U1 and 2 were the best partly because of scott speedman and selene. The awakening SUCKED.

shareAgreed. I won't be watching this one. The series was supposed to be about Michael's character and instead it became about Selena. I lost hope for this series when in the second one, Selena had to save Michael's character all the way through the movie.
