I just caught a live interview with Kate, on facebook
The link was being shared on facebook. It was mainly just small talk, but when asked about other installments, she said that it was a great thing how Underworld isn't tied down by comic books or pre-existing stories, "so it's all just a matter of coming up with stories that fans will want to see." Something along those lines, but certainly nothing about this being the last chapter for her or the franchise. It really is just a matter of box office.
